Tell us about your role

The majority of the time I work in Aquatique but also support when required in our two other stores as a sales advisor. I love greeting and engaging with the guests, driving sales and promotions and giving great guest care. We all work together as a team to achieve our goals and targets.

What does a typical day at work look like for you?

I start the day with a catch up with the team, this starts my day off with a smile. I make sure the shop is tidy and presentable and we are ready to greet our guests. I use my product knowledge to help guests find the right product, whether that is by completing goggle fittings or advising on swim vests and floatation aids. After the delivery has arrived I will merchandise any new lines that have come in to store and refresh the windows and displays.

What do you love most about your job?

Working in an open and honest environment where you are encouraged to work as a team and support each other. I have a voice and I feel heard when I offer my opinion or raise any issues. We are recognised and rewarded for our hard work and I can award my colleagues with star awards which is lovely and promotes a positive work place. I love helping guests, talking to them about their holiday and I love when they remember you the next time they visit.

What is your proudest moment?

In the past 5 years I have gained confidence and grown within my role, this year I have received an annual service star award which I am very proud of. One of my proudest moments was helping a guest who looked upset and confided in me about her lack of body confidence, she felt nothing looked or felt right on her. We chatted for a while and I selected some of our swimming costumes that I knew would be suitable for her. The guest was over the moon with the choice and couldn’t believe how different she looked and felt. She purchased two that day and left the shop feeling a million dollars. She was so grateful for my time and the patience and kindness I had shown her. I felt I had made a difference to this lovely guest who returned the next day to tell me she had gone swimming that evening and was going again today.
